1. Shoot in color mode – Digital camera produce tone range in color mode because in this mode, censor take data from 3 channels- Red, Green, and Blue or RGB. That's why black photo is produced by photo editing using photo editor in computer will tend more good in quality.

2. Set Iso as Low As Possible - Noise ( little white dots that appear in your photo) will looks more clear in black and white photograph better than in color photograph. Use ISO as low as possible in order to decrease the noises.
3. Cloudy is the best time- Cloudy will make contrast more low, and this is the best time to make black & white photograph. You will not too care about grey color of sky.because it's invisible.
