From six Composition elements above, line is is the most important elements ( depending from professional photographer). Without line, there is no shape, without shape there's no form. And without line and shape, there is no pattern. This is about how to use the line in order to make your photo looks stunning , let's discuss together :

Everyday we see line elements everywhere, but maybe because our eyes are too familiar , we don't recognize it. Horizon, river flow, beach line, paddy field, road, railroads, stair, building, and etc. Basically, line is divided by 4 types , they are: horizontal, vertical, diagonal, and curve. Each type can represented the current message and feel for audience in photo.

1. Horizontal Line

Horizontal Line give impression of stability, silent, permanent and strong. The obvious example from horizontal line is Horizon of sky which divide between sky and island ( or ocean), horizon is like legs for body : strong, solid, foundation. Avoid using horizontal line in the middle of your photo, because it show flat and dead impression. For better photo, find the horizontal line which is flake like this photo bellow :

2. Vertical Line

Vertical line can represent the power and high impression ( for example multi-storey building) also growth ( for example : tree). Avoid placing the vertical line in the middle of photo, so it divides the photo become just two parts.

3. Diagonal Line

Diagonal line is more dynamic better than Horizontal and Vertical line. this line give the feel in composition so the impression is more life. When you explore the diagonal line properly in photo , you will get very impressive and eye catching photo. Use the diagonal line with pulling one side to other side which is across each other.

4. Curve Line

From the other line elements of composition that is flat, the curve line have lithe and very dynamic characteristic. if the diagonal line make composition more life, the curve is more that it, this line give sexy impression in photo composition. The smooth curve, relax and moving. The curve line also very dominant in nature, you can find in many shape, such as : mountain, beach curve, edge of leaf.
