Motion Freeze Using Priority Shutter

If you’ve started to learn about manual exposure which is available in your camera, now it’s time to play with the others setting. In this article we will learn about how to freeze  the  motion (motion freeze) using Priority Shutter.
Just for refreshing, it’s like what i wrote before that shutter speed is the amount of how long camera censor can see the lights (exposure). Rean again about shutter speed and Priority Shutter.
In Generally , accelerating and slowing down shutter speed producee different photos. There is no right and wrong answer, all the things depend on the message that we want to tell through photograph. Shutter speed super fast make you can freeze the surfer motion in on the wave, slowing down shutter speed make you can produce panning photo that show the motion. Allright, let’s start :

For Super Fast Motion
More fast the motion that you want to freeze in the photo, more fast also the shutter speed that is needed.  At the photo sample above, shutter speed that was choosen  is very fast which is 1/5000 seconds. Shutter speed as fast as like that is very needed because the motion is very fast, meanwhile  i’ve been on the boat and  moving closer, so the object nor camera moving each other relatively. Terefore set camera in Priority Shutter and auto ISO also focus in continous position. Firstly, i determine the shutter speedmin position 1/5000 so the camera will choose the aperture in the amount of f/2.8.

For medium fast motion
This photo show people who are running in the sunny morning. Photographer just need medium shutter speed (1/400 secconds) and it’s enough to free the motion. Why we don’t need  shutter speed as fast as like  sample before? Because the motion of runner relatively more slow , and because the photographer in motionlessalso because the object (runner) is parrarel relatively with focus area of camera.

This photo need shutter speed in the amount of 1/800 seconds. I’m in motionless position and the flying bird that  try to slowing down the movement, but the range of bird from me is too cloose (about 6 meters) therefore i need shutter speed in amount of 1/800 seconds.
Actually there’s no official standard about how fast shutter speed that i need for every situation where we want freezing the motion. To make more clrear  you must act directly, but there are some points that we can pick from 3 samples above.

Conclusion
In generally to freeze the motion,  you need to consider a few things :
1. The object speed it sels, more fast the object move more fast also the shutter speed that we need.
2. Our relative speed as photographer toward object. If we move closer,  so the shutter speed that           we need also more fast.
3. Object range more fast the object range with the photographer so shutter spped that we need also         more high.
4. The lenght of your lens. Mor long your lens focal more fast also the shutter speed that we need.
