Prime Lens and the Amazing Advantages

        Maybe you’ve heard many brands of lenses oftenly, but do you know what the prime lens is? And for what? Why we need that lense?  Allright before you ask too much let start with understanding the prime lens / fixed lens. 


        Understanding Prime Lens - Prime lens is the lens which is have just one focal lenght. For example such as Canon lens 40mm f/1.8, Nikon 35mm f/1.4G, Canon EF 20mm f/2.8 or Tamron lens 90mm f/2.8 Macro. 


    All lenses that only have one focal lenght called Prime Lens or Fixed Lens, as the reverse from zoom lens that have many focal length points. If prime lens only have one focal lenght, meanwhile zoom lens have many focal lenght, ao what the advantages?

Some advantages of Prime lens
       Some characters bellow is a generalization, because there are some current lenses which is broke or the quality is not your wish or the price is too high. But most of prime lens have characteristics like this :

1. The size and weight
The size of Prime lens is small, light, and more compact. Because prime lens just have one focal lenght, so the lens isn’t must have tricky mechanism construction , so that the shape and the size is more efficient.

2. Quality
 Prime lens have optic quality that very good. Camera maker make prime lens and only have to focus about how to produce the very good photo quality in that focal lenght.

3. Price
Prime lens is usually more cheaper in price because it have construction and mechanism more simple better than zoom lens. There’s no  moving element to zoom in or zoom out. You can also see the price list of lens here.

4. Quick Lens
prime lens  usually have maximum aperture that really wide so it’s capable to collect many lights. This quality that make prime called Quick Lens becaise we we can sue high shutter speed to maximazing aperture. Wide aperture also make viewfinder more bright.

5. Blurred/Bokeh.
The most wanted characteristic from prime lens is blurred/bokeh qualitywhich is produced by this lens. Beacause it have wide maximum apertures, so the blurred/bokeh quality is more good. You can see the many amazing bokeh picture here.

6. Zoom using your leg
Prime lens spur us to more creative. Because there’s no zoom feature, so it’s forced us to step up our leg and think more hard when composising a photo. Many arguments that it can spurour creativity when we shoot .
